Are you a fellow blogger? Are you wondering whether you can make a full time income from your blog so can be at home with your kids?
Are you frustrated by the amount of effort you put in, that never seems to pay off?
How about insulted by the number of brands and PR firms who send you seemingly wonderful offers, but when you read between the lines they just want you to work for free?
Or coming down to earth with a bump when you see that advertisers don’t pay half as well in January as they do in December?
If you want to know how you can make money from your blog without having to sell your soul to the devil keep on reading. Because I’ve got a way… and I’m guessing you might not have heard about it before.
When I started my blog in January 2014 I was desperate for brands to notice me because I wanted to do product reviews and sponsored posts. I thought that was how you became successful as a blogger.
It didn’t take too long though for me to figure out that most PR companies and brands either wanted you to work for free (or some social media promotion – woohoo!) or they wanted to send you a gift basket or a bottle of wine in return for writing a post.
A gift basket is all very nice, but it doesn’t pay the mortgage right?
So then I thought, heck I’ll just earn an income from my blog by selling advertising. So I joined up with various networks and I worked my bottom off writing content and promoting it to increase my pageviews.
Slowly but surely that advertising income started climbing, and in December 2014 I made $1300 selling advertising on my blog. I was doing a happy dance all around the room.
Then in January I came down to earth with a bump. I saw a 3% drop in advert impressions on my mobile site between December and January, and a 71% drop in income! Scary right?
So if work from brands doesn’t really pay the bills (unless you’re very lucky), and advertising income can’t be relied on from month to month. How else can you earn money from your blog?
You could sell services, like Virtual Assistant, or blog design. But I have two toddlers and I don’t work on my blog during ‘office hours’ and to be honest I just don’t like the thought of having to work to deadlines, it stresses me out!
You can be an affiliate of course. I do some affiliate promotions in my posts, and yes it does bring in some income. But again it’s not reliable. And you have to put in an awful lot of effort to get one sale, that might pay you a 6% commission, and then you never benefit from that customer again.
After going through these thought processes I started to feel pretty disheartened.
Then I thought. Product Creation! If you have your own product then you have your own customers, who you can build relationships with over time.
But product creation itself takes time and money, and selling a 15 dollar ebook is unlikely to pay the bills.
And that’s when I came across Network Marketing.
Don’t run away. Hear me out. I said this was a way of making money on your blog you might not have heard of. And Network Marketing is not what you might think.
If the best way to make money on your blog is to sell products and build relationships, but product creation costs time and money, why not sell someone else’s product?
If when you think about Network Marketing you think Avon or Tupperware, hosting parties and delivering boxes of products across the neighbourhood, you can think again.
Instead of that, think of it like an affiliate programme. You write your blog posts as you usually do, and you add a link to the personal company website where your reader can go to buy that product. But unlike with Amazon for example where you don’t know which customers made a purchase, with Network Marketing those customers become your customers. And you can build a relationship over time to help them further.
The key is to get involved with a reputable company with sensational products, because then you never have to think about “selling”, it’s only ever about sharing the products that you love. All you need to do is put them in front of your readers, and your friends and family if you want to do that too.
And you don’t just have to limit this to your blog either, I have seen people making 4 figure a month money just by talking about these products on their Facebook profile!
The other thing I love the company I work with is that you can set your own goals, and set your own hours. You can choose to work “very” part time hours, or like some you might find that you love it so much you want to make it a full time gig. It’s entirely up to you.
I am building my team
If you’re still reading then I’m guessing you want to know more about this opportunity right? And whether it’s the right thing for you to get involved in? If that is the case then send me an email with all of your questions and let’s have a chat about it.
No pressure honestly.
I am building my team right now and I’m looking for like minded people who want to change their lives and their family’s lives, and if that’s you then I’d love for you to get in touch!
