Water Table Activities: They Can Be Used for More than Just Water Play

Our favourite water table! Our favourite water table!
I spent last summer searching for a water table for the kiddos. We buy most of our toys second hand but we just couldn’t find anyone who was selling on their table.

In the end I decided to buy a new one for them for Christmas and decided on a Step2 table because I had heard so many good things about them and loved that it had a parasol for shade on sunny days.

It was really easy to put together and is sturdy enough to stand the test of time, maybe that’s why no one ever wants to sell one on!

Hubby was a bit surprised as to why I would buy a water table as a Christmas present, as it was far too cold to be outside. But I want to be able to use the table indoors in the winter for sensory play.

When we introduced the kiddos to their new water table on Christmas morning it was filled with dried pasta, and that kept them entertained for hours.

But I needed some more ideas so I pulled together this collection of activities we can do with our water table both indoors and outside.

I hope the list inspires you too!
