Fast Crochet Baby Blankets
If you were planning on hooking up a blanket for a baby shower gift but time has flown by today’s collection is just what you need! All of these gorgeous baby blankets work up fast so they’re perfect for last minute gifts!
They’re beginner friendly too, although of course if you’re just starting out they might take you a little longer to crochet.
1 | Fast and Easy Beginner Crochet Baby Blanket
This pattern is worked up using a combination of Lion Brand’s Baby Soft Boucle and their Mandala baby yarn for a gorgeous gradient-meets-fluffy-cloud effect! The boucle is so fluffy that your stitches can be hard to spot which is why Jess designed this Tributary baby blanket using granny stripes. The pattern is very simple making this a fast baby blanket to work up and one that is suitable for beginners.Fast and Easy Beginner Crochet Baby Blanket by Make and Do Crew
2 | Easy V-Stitch Crochet Blanket Pattern
You’ll need to pick out three colours to make this gorgeous blanket. I think this grey blue combination would be a great choice for a baby boy for sure. The V Stitch is a simple and classic stitch and the blanket works up really quickly. Note that the pattern is for a throw blanket so to make it baby size you’ll need to reduce the yarn yardage accordingly.Easy V-Stitch Crochet Blanket Pattern by Rescued Paw Designs
3 | Granny Stripe Baby Blanket
Here’s another granny stripe baby blanket which won’t take you long to make. I love the pretty scalloped edge on this one!Granny Stripe Baby Blanket by Magic Matilda
4 | Continuous Crochet Baby Blanket (Preemie/Car Seat)
If you’re looking for a preemie sized baby blanket, or you want one to use in the car seat then take a look at this GORGEOUS continuous solid square pattern! The final blanket measures 25×25 inches (63×63 cm) and uses just under 500 metres of yarn.Continuous Crochet Baby Blanket (Preemie/Car Seat) by Look at What I Made
5 | Double Crochet Baby Blanket
I’ve had quite a few reader requests for a double crochet baby blanket so here you go! A blanket pattern really doesn’t get any simpler than this that’s for sure. And you can work them up using plain yarn, mandala yarn or add your own coloured stripes.Double Crochet Baby Blanket by Make and Takes
6 | Simple Crocheted Blanket Go To Pattern
Of course another fast baby blanket to work up is one using the simple blanket stitch! It has a fabulous texture to it and creates a dense fabric that is cozy and cuddly. If you use a chunky yarn like Lion Brand’s Wool Ease Chunky you’ll need 4 skeins to make a baby sized blanket and 14 skeins if you love it so much you want to make a throw sized one for yourself!Simple Crocheted Blanket Go To Pattern by Mama in a Stitch
7 | Easy Done in a Day Crochet Baby Blanket
Is done in a day fast enough for you? This is another double crochet blanket and I’m including it because if you do want to work up a striped version Jamey has documented which rows you should do in which colours to keep it nice and even, so you don’t have to spend time figuring that bit out for yourself! You can of course choose any colour yarns you like but I think the denim, white and taupe combination is a lovely choice for a boy’s baby blanket, or even a gender neutral one.Easy Done in a Day Crochet Baby Blanket by Dabbles and Babbles
